I think it is safe to assume that all of us have gone to a store when we decided that there was something that we needed to purchase. This is the way things have been working for many, many years. You walked in the store, picked up the item you were thinking about buying and physically held it in your hand and checked it out while you were making up your mind whether or not to buy what you were holding in your hands or touching.
You then look at all the different prices that are on all of the different shelves and stand there while going back and forth about which choice is going to be your best for that day. Of course some of you may know exactly what you want and can be in and out of a store within minutes.
Then what you normally would do next is take the product to the register where you can pay for it with either actual real paper money or sometimes with a credit card. You stand there wile waiting and sometimes engage in a real conversation with a real live person. Everybody抯 mood tends to be the deciding factor in which way the conversation will travel.
There has been a new style and way of keeping up with changes that many people have been inviting and experimenting with quite heavily. This would involve selling products online in addition to your store. You don抰 even have to own a brick and mortar store to really even sell what your interested in selling.
This has been a new phenomenon for quite a few years now, but as with many things it takes a long time for things to spread out to every single person in the world.
If you are one of the many that have opted to use the internet to market what it is that you have decided to sell, there are a few things you should make sure that you are taking good care of for greater success online.
You are going to want to provide a lot of content and product description about your product your selling. Sizes, dimensions, colors and comparisons to other similar products are very important in helping the online customer in deciding what is best for what they need.
You need to try and paint as big and clear of a picture as you can so that they have a clear vision with every single aspect of the transaction that will be taking place online. This is very important because if they are a first time customer or it is there first time visiting your website, you want them to walk away with a very good feeling of knowing they made a good decision and that they would like to come back to buy something when the need arises next.
Giving the customer many options is always helpful. Allowing them to choose which type of shipping method that they would like to use is key. Having your contact information in an easy to find place is another way to make the customer feel like they are going to be taken care of and everything is going to be all right.
Having the live chat feature is another great way to keep in touch with your customer if that is the option that they would like to choose. Having a few options is good, but don抰 get carried away. Having too many can confuse the customer into a state of analysis paralysis, and we wouldn抰 want our customers going brain dead.
You don抰 want the customer to have to work too hard or become too confused, it has to be a very delicate and carefully balanced and well thought out online business plan to ensure that your web storefront will carry the amount of weight that you would like it to carry. Treat others the way you would like to be treated, and hopefully you like to be treated well.
