Have you drink from the gourmet coffee maker before?

People asking you if you drink from a gourmet coffee maker, is either playing a prank on you or they are not into coffee. This is because no one in the coffee industry call a machine by this name.

If you are curious about what exactly is a gourmet coffee maker, then you would just need to think the definition of gourmet coffee. For terms such as "best coffee makers", we know that it is a demand for some coffee machines because folks wanted to look for their best coffee brewer.

But, gourmet coffee maker is a term that was created by the coffee companies. I guess marketers need to some attractive terminology to market their machines and so they came out with this term gourmet coffee maker.

The unfortunate side of the story is that this term did not really catch on, and there are only a few people that are using this term (I suspect they are probably the people that came out with this term).

So what exactly is a gourmet coffee maker? Well, they are the machines that would brew you, your gourmet coffee. And gourmet coffee refers to espresso, cappuccino, latte, mocha and a whole list of coffee that are created using espresso.

I guess you probably get the picture that gourmet coffee maker is just another term for espresso machines. This term did not come into being until the late 1990's when coffee chains was ruling the market.

With coffee chains came the term, gourmet coffee. And it is from there, that companies started to market their machines as gourmet coffee maker. Sounds good, but it is still basically an espresso maker.

So, how it is possible that you have not drank from a gourmet coffee maker before right? If you live in any place that has a coffee shop or cafe, then you would definitely have drank one before!

But, if you asked me about the merits of owning such a machine, I would advise you against it. Sure, the coffee taste good and it looks really cool to do all the dosing, tamping and frothing actions, but it is not easy to get a good cup of coffee.

You need some skills in order to make a good cup of coffee. There is another genre of coffee makers, known as single serve coffee maker, and they are also able to brew for you the whole range of gourmet coffee.

And the single serve coffee makers are able to do it better, because all you need to do is to insert the coffee pods and press a button. No other skills require in brewing the coffee. That is what I call gourmet coffee maker!

There you have it folks, my take at gourmet coffee maker
